Re-emerging
Magic Surrealist Dawn Wildsmith invites you to puruse her site
and to celebrate its complete reconstruction.
Ms. Wildsmith began painting at the age of eight beside her beatnik
father, Ira Wildsmith, who owned Gallery St. Denis back in the
mid-50's.
Ms. Wildsmith's paintings and sculpture being "fraught with
yearning creatures reaching for that ever elusive, empyrean brass
ring" brought Wildsmith to the front door
of her career by selling her first painting "War and Death"
at the age of 12 for $100. Other than her fathers slight influence,Wildsmith
has had
no formal training.
Dawn
was born in Carmel by the Sea and grew up all along the California
coast. In the '80's, Wildsmith co-owned Savage Films and A.I.R.
Inc. and has appeared in
twenty-four films.
Several of Wildsmith's pieces were shown at Steel Soul and Fallen
Angel, as well as at a Friday the 13th Show
at Top of the Plaza in downtown Chicago in July of 2001.
Currently Wildsmith is on a mad trek about the country...
"just tryin' to get a show..."
